نیاز حیاتی بشر به محصولات کشاورزی از یک‌سو و ضرورت حفظ منابع راهبردی، نظیر آب‌وخاک و نیز محیط‌زیست از سوی دیگر، سیاست گذاران کشاورزی دنیا را به استفاده مؤثر، به هنگام و بهینه نهاده‌های کشاورزی سوق داده است. این راهبرد ضمن داشتن مزایای اقتصادی، از استفاده بیش از نیاز واقعی نهاده‌ها و ورود مواد شیمیایی کشاورزی به چرخه غذایی انسان از طریق رسوب در محصولات کشاورزی یا نفوذ در آب‌های سطحی و زیرسطحی و درنهایت در بدن انسان جلوگیری می کند. علاوه بر این، آب‌وخاک دو منبع مهم کشاورزی هستند که وضعیت هردو روزبه‌روز بحرانی تر شده و در برخی موارد شرایط بسیار نگران کننده است. یکی از راه‌حل‌های عمده این مشکلات استفاده از روش‌های مدیریتی جدید در سامانه‌های کشاورزی و استفاده از فناوری‌های نوین به منظور مدیریت بهینه نهاده‌ها می‌باشد. امروزه این امر در کشاورزی دنیا تحت عنوان کشاورزی دقیق مطرح است. در کشاورزی دقیق قبل از اعمال نهاده‌ها، مقدار موردنیاز با پردازش اطلاعات جمع‌آوری‌شده از مزرعه تعیین و سپس اعمال می شود.
با توجه به شرایط جغرافیایی کشور ایران که از کمبود منابع کشاورزی رنج می‌برد، مدیریت مصرف نهاده‌ها در تولید محصولات کشاورزی دارای اهمیت مضاعف است. بر این اساس، حرکت به سمت کشاورزی دقیق نه یک انتخاب، بلکه یک ضرورت، به‌خصوص برای کشور ایران است؛ اما علیرغم افزایش آگاهی های عمومی و تلاش‌های صورت گرفته در راستای حفظ منابع، استفاده بی‌رویه از نهاده‌ها و منابع آب‌وخاک همچنان ادامه دارد. در سال‌های اخیر، کشاورزی حفاظتی از سوی سیاست‌گذاران و مجریان بخش کشاورزی مطرح و با جدیت تمام پیگیری شده است؛ بااین‌حال، عدم تصمیم‌گیری‌های به‌موقع، جامع و قاطع در استفاده از فناوری‌های نوین در سطوح مختلف فعالیت‌های کشاورزی، در مقام عمل اجرای اصول کشاورزی دقیق توفیق چندانی نداشته است.
در این زمینه برای نشان دادن اهمیت پرداختن به کشاورزی دقیق و ایجاد زمینه برای هم‌فکری و هم‌افزایی بخش‌های مختلف علمی، تحقیقاتی و اجرایی حوزه کشاورزی، نشست علمی کشاورزی دقیق در روز ۲۴ آبان توسط گروه مهندسی بیوسیستم دانشگاه تبریز با حضور متخصصان و محققان دانشگاه ها، مراکز تحقیقاتی، نهاد های سیاست گذاری و صنایع مرتبط و نیز دبیر کل کمیسیون بین-المللی مهندسی کشاورزی و بیوسیستم (CIGR) برگزار خواهد شد. با این امید که ‌بتوان با بهره‌گیری از تجربیات بخش‌های فوق الذکر و به‌کارگیری علوم روز، گام مؤثری در حفظ منابع و تأمین نیازهای غذایی کشور برداشته شود.

The vital need of humanity for agricultural products on one hand and the necessity of preserving strategic resources such as water and soil, as well as the environment on the other hand, has led agricultural policymakers around the world to effectively, timely, and optimally use agricultural inputs. This strategy, while having economic advantages, prevents the excessive use of inputs beyond actual needs and the entry of agricultural chemicals into the human food cycle through residues in agricultural products or infiltration into surface and groundwater, ultimately affecting human health. Moreover, water and soil are two important agricultural resources whose conditions are becoming increasingly critical, and in some cases, the situation is very concerning. One of the major solutions to these problems is the use of new management methods in agricultural systems and the application of modern technologies for optimal management of inputs. Today, this is referred to as precision agriculture worldwide. In precision agriculture, before applying inputs, the required amount is determined by processing information collected from the farm and then applied.
Considering the geographical conditions of Iran, which suffers from a shortage of agricultural resources, managing the consumption of inputs in agricultural production is of paramount importance. Accordingly, the shift towards precision agriculture is not a choice but a necessity, especially for Iran; however, despite the increase in public awareness and efforts made to preserve resources, the excessive use of inputs and water and soil resources continues. In recent years, conservation agriculture has been proposed by policymakers and practitioners in the agricultural sector and has been pursued with full seriousness; however, the lack of timely, comprehensive, and decisive decision-making in the use of modern technologies at various levels of agricultural activities has hindered the successful implementation of precision agriculture principles.
In this regard, to demonstrate the importance of addressing precision agriculture and to create a platform for collaboration and synergy among various scientific, research, and executive sectors in agriculture, the scientific meeting on precision agriculture will be held on 24 Aban by the Biosystems Engineering Group at Tabriz University with the presence of specialists and researchers from universities, research centers, policymaking institutions, and related industries, as well as the Secretary-General of the International Commission of Agricultural Engineering and Biosystems (CIGR). It is hoped that by utilizing the experiences of the aforementioned sectors and applying modern sciences, effective steps will be taken to preserve resources and meet the food needs of the country.
