سابقه روز آزادی نرمافزار در جهان
اولین بار در روز ۲۸ اوت سال ۲۰۰۴، ۷۰ گروه در نقاط مختلف جهان روز آزادی نرمافزار را جشن گرفتند که این عدد در سال ۲۰۰۵ به ۳۰۰ تیم از ۶۰ کشور جهان رسید تا جایی که گرامیداشت این روز در سال ۲۰۰۹ در ۹۰ کشور جهان برگزار شد.
از سال ۲۰۰۶ تا به امروز این جشن در سومین شنبه ماه سپتامبر گرفته میشود.
سابقه برگزاری این جشن در ایران نیز به سال ۱۳۹۰ بازمیگردد. در سال نود این جشن در سه شهر اصفهان،کرج و مشهد برگزار شد که در سال ۹۱ شهر های رفسنجان، شاهینشهر ،ساری، رشت و تهران نیز این روز را جشن گرفتند.
همچنین در ایران دانشگاهها و مراکز دولتی از مراکز بسیار حمایت کننده از این روز هستند به طوری که همایش روز آزادی نرمافزار تهران در سال ۹۴ در دانشگاه صنعتی شریف، همایش روز آزادی نرمافزار کرج در اداره کل فرهنگ و ارشاد اسلامی استان البرز و همایش آزادی نرمافزار اصفهان در دانشگاه صنعتی اصفهان برگزار شد.

در تمام پنج سالی که همایش روز آزادی نرمافزار در نقاط گوناگون ایران برگزار شده، متأسفانه تبریز هرگز شاهد برگزاری این برنامه نبوده است. بنابراین گروه علومکامپیوتر دانشگاه تبریز تصمیم گرفت تا شروع کننده این برنامه باشد و امسال با همت جمعی از استادان و دانشجویان دانشگاه تبریز این رویداد برای اولین بار در داخل دانشگاه برگزار خواهد شد.
مخاطبان این رویداد
برخلاف آنچه از نام رویداد برداشت میشود همایش روز آزادی نرمافزار یک همایش تخصصی نیست. بلکه میتواند مورد توجه افراد گوناگونی قرار گیرد. از جمله افرادی که برای کار های روزمره خود از رایانه استفاده میکنند و افرادی که در طراحی و توسعه نرمافزار ها فعالیت دارند.
شرکت در رویداد
همانطور که در بالا هم گفته شد محل برگزاری همایش داخل دانشگاه تبریز است. با وجود اینکه شرکت برای علاقهمندان در همایش رایگان است اما برای مدیریت بهتر شرکت کنندگان در همایش و همچنین ارائه بهتر خدمات باید افراد شرکت کننده در رویداد از صفحه این همایش در سایت ایوند بلیت رایگان تهیه نمایند.

History of Software Freedom Day in the World
For the first time on August 28, 2004, 70 groups in various parts of the world celebrated Software Freedom Day, a number that reached 300 teams from 60 countries in 2005, to the extent that the commemoration of this day was held in 90 countries in 2009.
From 2006 to the present, this celebration has been held on the third Saturday of September.
The history of this celebration in Iran dates back to 1390. In that year, the celebration was held in three cities: Isfahan, Karaj, and Mashhad, and in 1391, the cities of Rafsanjan, Shahinshahr, Sari, Rasht, and Tehran also celebrated this day.
Additionally, in Iran, universities and government centers are among the strong supporters of this day, so much so that the Software Freedom Day conference in Tehran in 1394 was held at Sharif University of Technology, the Software Freedom Day conference in Karaj at the General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Alborz Province, and the Software Freedom Day conference in Isfahan at Isfahan University of Technology.

Software Freedom Day in Tabriz
In all five years that the Software Freedom Day conference has been held in various parts of Iran, unfortunately, Tabriz has never witnessed this program. Therefore, the Computer Science group of Tabriz University decided to initiate this program, and this year, with the efforts of a group of professors and students from Tabriz University, this event will be held for the first time inside the university.
Audience of this Event
Contrary to what the name of the event suggests, the Software Freedom Day conference is not a specialized conference. Rather, it can attract the attention of various individuals, including those who use computers for their daily tasks and those who are involved in the design and development of software.
Participation in the Event
As mentioned above, the conference will be held inside Tabriz University. Although participation is free for interested individuals, to better manage the participants and provide better services, attendees must obtain a free ticket from the event page on the Evand website.
